Message from the President

Welcome to the FAPT website. Our goal is to provide meaningful pupil transportation information to you and to keep you updated on FAPT activities throughout the state.
As members of this organization, we must stand together to ensure school transportation services gives all students equal access to schools through safe, secure, environmentally responsible, efficient, and cost effective transportation. The past three years have been huge belt-tightening years for all of us in the school bus community, and this year we are again challenged to ensure only essential services remain a budget priority within our departments.
Be reassured that our FAPT organization will continue to function to serve you, the member. Our Mid Year Director’s meeting will be in Tallahassee in February 2012 and will be held in the DOE building. The FAPT committees are approved and committee chairmen were notified of the membership of their committees. Our FAPT Executive Committee will work hard to continue the standard of excellence that is the fabric of our service to Florida’s pupil transportation operations and the people we serve.
Finally, our 2011 FAPT summer symposium was a huge success. The Ocala Hilton Hotel provided excellent facilities for our meeting rooms and vendor display area. The numerous presentations provided a wide variety of subject material for the conference attendees, in spite of our shortened two-day format and lowered costs. We say this often, yet it can never be said enough, and that is to express an enormous thank you to the many vendors and sponsors that participated. We could never host an event of the magnitude that is common with our summer conferences without the support of these fine companies. Thank you!
